WELCOME TO general_korra, the new community dedicated to promoting general fanfiction and fanart/graphics for The Legend of Korra and Korra-Avatar related material.

GENFIC GUIDELINES:
o1 → General Fanfiction/Fanart only; i.e., fanworks who's centeral focus is not on romance or sexual content. Fanfiction/Fanart dubbed "Slash/Het if you Squint" will not be permitted. The media which is posted here must be 100% Gen. I cannot stress this enough.
o2 → Established (i.e., canon) relationships are allowed within a story, must be regulated far into the background. (fannon romance falls into the realms of speculative, i.e., "shipping" and thus are automatically prohibited.) They should NEVER BE THE FOCUS of the story/art itself.
o3 → PROMOTION OF OTHER COMMUNITIES IS NOT ALLOWED HERE.
o4 → WHITEWASHING fanworks are not permitted here in the community. Educate yourself on the issue (visit Racebending.com, stopwhitewashing.tumblr.com, korraisnottan.tumblr.com and damnlayoffthebleach.tumblr.com), avoid it at all costs. There is no middle ground, there is no "I didn't intend to whitewash, I just prefer Korra have lighter skin than canonically depicted". DON'T DO IT.
o5 → As such, to avoid spammers, lurkers, flamers and trolls, membership here is moderated. To become a member you must have an active/established account that you post on a semi-regular basis. If you've been rejected then it is because of the following:
a): There are zero to no entries on your personal journal (outside of the "Weclome to LiveJournal!" Message) since it's inception.
b): You have no associates (friends) nor are you a member of any communities.
c): Your journal is new and not established.
o6 → Discussion about common themes or general discussion about fanfiction or Requests for Help/Betas are allowed; remember to put lengthy posts behind a cut and search for threads that may cover a certain issue your looking for.

General Fic Community Rules:
o1 → This community is Korra friendly, meaning that pissing/shipping-contests over "which show/ship is better" is not permitted here. If you have a problem with this concept venture no further than you've gone. Flaming and bashing will not be tolerated in the least.
o2 → Spell check all your stories and poetry. There is no excuse for not performing this duty. If you do not have a word processor that has the spell checking feature, use a search engine such as Google.com to find one.
o3 → Proofread all entries for grammar and other aspects of writing before submission. 'Hot off the press' content is often riddled with errors. No one is perfect but it is the duty of the writer to perform to the best of his/her ability.
o4 → When posting fanfiction please remember to Title Your Posts. Especially Chapter Stories [EXAMPLE: "Lord Zedd Rising (or 1/20), etc." or "The Megazord Revived - ONE SHOT/DRABBLE]. DO NOT Leave the subject title blank or the post will be rejected.
o5 → When leaving Reviews or Comments be courteous to the author and do not flame them (the same can be said to the authors as well). Offer them constructive criticism on the things they could imrpove instead if you didn't like something. If you disagree with something or a certain type of fanfiction, then stay away from it. Do not venture beyond the reading the prompt.
o6 → Absolutely no character bashing. The same rules above apply to this. If a certain pairing or character bothers you, then stay away from it.
o7 → Remember to label your fanfiction with warnings to give the reader a heads up on the content inside your stories. Label your stories with the proper ratings (See: Fanfiction Ratings for an example)
o8 → When posting a story, please use this basic format outside the LiveJournal cut:

10 → When Posting graphics for fanfiction (like a banner created for a certain story) please keep the image between 300x300 / 400x400 (or 500x150 and smaller) pixles. Nothing can exceed the stylesheet.
11 → Please remember to USE THE TAGS provided. Stories will be tagged with the authors name among other things.
12 → Feel Free to post whatever you want in your journal or your community, But, PLEASE make it PUBLIC, DO NOT make our members join your community.
